about Hannah
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
You are wanted, welcome, and needed! Seeking therapeutic support is one of the most courageous things anyone can do. The need to be seen, heard, understood, and valued is a fundamental component of being human. Often shame, confusion, feelings of helplessness, or a sense of immobilization inhibit us from allowing ourselves to have this innate need met. Congratulations on starting the process of honoring who you are!
My name is Hannah Schweizer, and I’m a Board Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and EMDR Therapist. I received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University, and completed post-graduate training in EMDR, CBT, CBT-P, ACT, DBT, MI, Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Risk Assessment, Crisis De-escalation, and a variety of Trauma Informed approaches. In addition, I am privileged to have had training in Gottman Couples Therapy, which is the only evidence-based couples therapy currently available. My specialties include treatment of mental health disorder, trauma, eating disorders, and relational dynamics. I consider myself a culturally responsive, holistic and multi-modal practitioner in that I work with you to find and curate modalities specific to your unique set of needs while honoring your individuality and identity. My passion lies in working with adults and families from a person-centered strengths-based perspective. You are the expert on yourself!
My role is to provide a safe, and non-judgmental environment as we work together to explore the concerns leading you to seek treatment. Together, with compassion, we will gently unearth the strategies that no longer serve you, and find space for new strategies and skills to help you accomplish your goals. The modalities I’ll introduce in session will be informed by your individual needs. It’s not uncommon to hear laughter or witness an occasional dance move from my office. All parts of you are welcome! I look forward to working with, and learning about you!
Please call (619) 330-9500 or email intake@goodtherapysandiego.com to get scheduled with me or another therapist at GTSD!

"Hannah S. is hands down the best therapist I have ever been to, and there have been many. It is a relief to have finally found a mental health professional that is the right fit for me. Hannah is compassionate, a great listener, warm, and always provides an insightful perspective with scientific studies to back up findings. Since I have been in Hannah's care, I have grown tremendously and have truly felt supported throughout my healing journey. It is refreshing to actually look forward to my sessions and feel that progress has been made. I cannot recommend Hannah S. enough. Aside from being a fantastic therapist, she is an overall genuinely wonderful person. Thank you for everything!"

I highly recommend Good Therapy SD and my therapist Hannah Schweizer. Hannah is a Board Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an EMDR Therapist. I've been seeing Hannah for 2 months now. She is the first therapist I have been completely my authentic self with and have shared things about myself that I never shared with anyone else. I highly recommend Hannah. She tentatively listens, asks questions, and educates; all while treating me in nurturing, compassionate, respecting, and caring ways. She is very intelligent and well versed in her field. I appreciate when she shares with me her recommendations and knowledge. Hannah makes no assumptions and verifies/confirms with me before and after communicating what she is hearing me say and feel. She makes no judgements about me. I feel like we are working together for my benefit, my healing, and to create the best version of myself. I also appreciate all the staff at Good Therapy SD. They are responsive, follow-up, and are wonderful to interact with. Thank you Hannah and Good Therapy.”

“After dealing with some personal troubles for at least a couple of years, I finally decided to get some help and called Good Therapy San Diego. I was set up with Hannah, and it was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. Hannah's compassion, energy, and guidance have been the kickstart I needed to break out of the cycle I was stuck in for so long. Over the weeks so far, among other things, I've made great strides in identifying negative thought patterns, working on my self-compassion, being present in each moment, and have developed a much better understanding of myself and my emotions. There were SO many things that I just never noticed or paid attention to before that were dragging me down all the time, that I now have the knowledge, skills, and confidence in myself to take head on. I'm still a work in progress, but aren't we all 🙂 Perhaps most importantly, I feel the most hopeful for the future that I've felt for quite some time now. Thank you Hannah & Good Therapy SD!”
